Summary
To present a smoother animation, you may wish to change the direction in which your solids are depleted. By default, Spry depletes solids at a bearing of 90 degrees at zero incline. This tool allows you to set a new direction for a specified range of solids.
The example below will demonstrate how to implement a new advance direction for a specified range of tasks.
In this example, the default direction of 90 degrees is not perpendicular to the way the strips have been cut in this pit.
Location
Access the Solid Advance Direction tool by right clicking the table which stores the solids you're
interested in.

Once you have opened the tool, you will see that it closely resembles a blank Source Path.
On each line you can specify a task or group of nodes and an advance direction to apply to tasks on those nodes.
Insert Node Path Drop Down
The Insert Node Path Drop Down allows to you select a node and the sub-nodes it contains via a tree-list that mimics your table structure. It also allows you to choose from pre-created ranges.

If you have copied a range to your clipboard, you can paste that range in to the Node Path. Or you can select the drop-down chevron to the right of the option and select from the table Nodes.
The Fields input allows you to filter the application of the Advance Direction to certain solids.
Advance Direction is where we input our desired direction of the depletion (or accretion in the case of dump solids) of our solids.
There are a number of ways of inputting the direction. The simplest method though is inputting the bearing and slope at the bottom of the window. An input anywhere on this window will be reflected in all other areas to help avoid confusion.
The end result is this. Click Apply then Close.
Insert: In Range & Not In Range
Selecting either of these options will open a Range select container. From here, you can select a pre-existing Range and apply an Advance Direction for only that or the inverse of that Range.
