Sometimes in Spry you may want to create new surface grids to be used in utilities such as the relimitting solids tool. You can create surface grids from any point in the current animation by following this guide.
1. Jump to the point in the animation view where you would like to create your new surface grid:
2. Navigate to the 'Grid' Tab in the top ribbon menu, and select 'Create Surface':
3. Grid Options:
Grid Folder:
Accept the default or choose another folder to save the generated grid too.
Grid Name:
Choose a name for your generated Grid
Surface:
Choose to generate your grid from either the Top or Bottom of the selected solids.
Separate Source and Destination:
Choose to create separate grids for source and destination solids, if you are doing both at the same time.
Precision:
Choose 2 different methods of grid generate - Accurate or Fast.
Triangulate:
Choose to Triangulate generated grid at the same time.
4. Date Extents:
Reference Point:
Choose to set the reference points for the grid boundaries manually using the target icon, or around the visible solids using the square icon.
Grid Spacing:
Choose the grid spacing to be used when generating grid. Note: the smaller the grid spacing the bigger the memory required for the generated grid. This can also affect performance on large models.
Memory Requirement:
Preview of required memory for current Grid Spacing.
5. Once the Grid and Data extent settings are applied, you can find you generated grid under the Grid section in the 'Design Data' Section in the Project explorer menu:
