To get started with Micromine Cloud Licensing, complete the following steps:
Assign Licence Access (Admins only)
Verify Your Micromine ID
Micromine ID gives you one login for all Micromine Nexus services.
These steps guide all users in setting up a Micromine ID. Admins are automatically invited and must complete the setup. All other users will receive a Micromine ID when their Admin invites them to Nexus.
1. Check your inbox for an email from nexus@micromine.com and click the Setup password button. If you don’t see the email, click here to set up your password
2. Enter your email address in the window, click Send Verification Code, then Continue
3. Check your email again for a message from nexus@micromine.com containing your verification code. Copy the code to your clipboard
4. Paste the code into the input field, then click Verify Code and Continue
5. Enter a secure password for your Micromine ID, and click Continue
6. Once you’ve set up your password, you can log in to your home page
Assign Licence Access (Admins Only)
Licences must be assigned to users before use. This is typically done by an Admin, but any user with Manage permissions on a licence can also perform this action. More information on roles can be found here.
Each licence can be either floating or named. To identify the type of licence, open Nexus Licence Manager and check the tag displayed on the licence.
Floating Licences
Floating licences let multiple users share a set number of seats, with only that many users able to use them at the same time.
Click here for steps on managing a floating cloud licence.
Named Licences
Named licences are assigned to a single user and cannot be shared.
Click here for steps on managing a named cloud licence.
Launch application and add the licence
Launch the Spry application (version 26.5 or later) and select Cloud Licensing from the splash screen menu.
Verify that the Licence System is set to Micromine, then sign in using your Micromine ID.
A new web browser page will open where you’ll need to enter your Micromine ID. This sign-in is only required once every 90 days.
Once you sign in, the application will automatically discover the cloud licences available to you and display them in the Cloud Licences tab.
You can add the discovered licences to your Licence Configurations.
You can set a licence as the default licence if you want the application to use it automatically each time it launches.
You can close the Licence Options dialog and refresh the splash screen menu.
The splash screen menu will be updated to display the cloud licence name. This confirms that everything has been configured correctly, and you can now start using your favourite application.
Your Micromine ID profile will appear in the top-right corner of the interface.
The Licensing backstage menu displays your licence details and provides a link to the Nexus – Manage Licence application, where you can manage access settings, monitor usage statistics, and evict users from active sessions.
Click Go Offline to borrow the licence for a selected period, allowing you to use the application without an internet connection.
You can return the seat to the licence pool at any time before the borrowing period expires by clicking Go Online.
