This documentation displays thorough information on mining within selective lines where you can select an inline range from drawn shape tool, copy the output into a new range and then create the capacity constraint with the range.
Procedure
-
On the Design feature, select a layer that contains the polygons you will use to select a range.
-
Open the new layer i.e. "Polygons" in the animation feature, select inline range from drawn shape tool and trace shape.
-
Copy the output into a new range.
Input Source: Either layer or selection
Layer Select: For example Polygons
Selection Type: Use Existing Shapes
Range Type: Source as an example
Output Range: Please choose a range where you want to save the data
...or
Selection Type: Draw Lasso
Range Type: Source as an example
Output Range: Please choose a range where you want to save the data
4. On the output range, click on 3 dots and select the range where you want to save it, once selected you will be able to see only the part of solid which you have selected.
Note: For the part of the solid which you don't want to include in the drawn shape tool, you can create a copy of the range first and make sure to tick the "Inverse" checkbox.
5. Create a capacity constraint with the range (Refer to Image).
Capacity Type: Manually specified
Constraint Type: Source
Source Range: Select the one with inverse
Value: Source Quantity
Start Time: Schedule Start
End Time: Schedule End
Capacities
Start: Start date
End: End date
Duration: such as 11 years
Quantity: 0
Once the above steps are followed correctly, a particular section/selective lines of the animation will get mined successfully.
Important Note: With the above procedure, if the solid is not completely inside the lines for example: half of the solid is in and other half of the solid is out, then it will lead to entire solid getting included in the range where you might see some solids overlapping the line.
