Table Plots - Period Progress Plots
Table Plots provide a strong visual tool for reporting a wide range of information. Common usages
include displaying strip ratio, area disturbed and end date mined.
Table plots are made by grouping together nodes on your database and creating 2D outlines of the
solids associated with that group. You can then display data on each polygon.
Note: Period progress plots are just basically table plots which are arranged by period dates (e.g. Dates mined, etc.)
Create New Table Plot
Start by going to Table Plots in Deposit > Setup > Table Plots as per below:
Then in Table Plots, Right Click Table Plots > Add > New Table Plot:
Once the New Table Plot has been created, rename it. E.g. Mined Date.
Go through and update the settings for the table plot which will represent your period plot by updating the:
- Grouping Options:
- Range - Keep to All (if you want the whole deposit table to be impacted by the period plot)
- Grouping Expression - Text(Pit) + "\\" + Text(Strip) + "\\" + Text(Block).
- Output:
- Solid Field - Here choose the custom solid field where you want the output solids to be stored
- Output Model - Choose between 'Solid Fill' & 'Outline'
- Z Offset - Keep at 0m unless wanting to have the solid output plots at an offset to the original solids
- Attribute Value & Formatted - You can leave these blank for now.
- Text Options:
- Value Type - You can choose between 'Numeric' and 'Date Time'. However, as we are interested in period plots, choose 'Date Time'
- Value Expression - This should be an expression that refers to a start date field. E.g. GetValue(REPDateStart) as in this case.
- Formatting Expression - Choose a suitable formatting expression. E.g. Text(Value, "MMMM/yyyy")
- Other Text Options - Feel free to modify these later and just keep them as per the example above.
- Legend Options: - Also feel free to modify these later and just keep them as per the example above for now.
Next Scroll down and modify the Colours as per below by clicking on the wizard:
Then adjust the parameters in the Colour Wizard as you would like, before hitting Generate Layer:
Note: If attempting to Generate a Layer gives you an error it could be because Plotting Polygons have not been set up. In that case - you will have to Generate Plotting Polygons first by following the following steps.
Generate Plotting Polygons
Start by going to Table Plots in Deposit > Setup > Table Plots as per below:
Then setup the Plotting Polygons as per below:
For Input: Feel free to modify the parameters as required. i.e. Adjust the Scan Range, Horizon & Block Expressions to the level of detail you want to capture. You can click the AB button on the right of the expression field, and it will allow you to select the level of granularity as per below.
Ensure the Input Solid Fields is selected to the appropriate solids. E.g. Imported Reserves\Coal\Solid
For Output: Ensure the Range is selected accordingly. In this case <All>
Designate the Output Solid Field accordingly. E.g. Period Plot\Period Plot Solid
Then Press Next.
For the Group Order, feel free to rearrange the order if required.
However, usually it is recommended to leave the default ordering (lowest strip and lower blocks first) as per above. Then hit next.
