Screen Resolution Settings

Introduction

Numerous clients have had issues with their Spry models recently. Sometimes when you open the model the window is in a different size, zoomed in, etc. so all the text appears larger with things looking distorted making it difficult to read. This essentially results in Gantts being unreadable, the 'Add button' no longer visible when adding rows to the parameter table and the Data Flow Assertion Errors not being readable, etc.

Restarting the computer only results in some of these issues going away sometimes.

Default Setting

It is recommended to switch the 'ui_dpi_awareness' to 'System' under Value column as can be seen below if you are having issues with screen resolution and the model window appearing distorted or being difficult to read.

Click Apply and restart Spry for those who are impacted.

Additional Settings

Spry also supports the DPI awareness mode 'PerMonitorV2' which will scale the 'Scale and layout' setting in Display Properties for all attached monitors. Note: If you are changing between different monitor setups or changing scaling factors, you must log out/log in or restart Windows. Please be aware this is a limitation of Windows.
