The initial calculator is an easy way to set values for the initial state feature of Spry. The calculator will use a surface and then the solids saved in the table to calculate how much of the solid sits above/below the surface and then use this number to represent how much of the solid is still to be mined at the start of the schedule.
Using the calculator can be done simply with a utility. To find the utility, right click the table you are working in, go to utilities and then select the Initial State Calculator.
1. Select a Solid that you want to cut from the Solids pane (top left)
2. Select the Initial State Field (bottom right, note that these fields must be fields of the PERCENTAGE type)
3. Select the Surface to cut the solids (bottom left)
4. Adjust any settings;
4.1 Range is a table range to select a sub set of the solids rather than the entire table
4.2 Scan mode is whether you want to know how much of the solid is Above or Below
4.3 Empty scan behaviour is the result when the surface doesn't intersect the solid
4.4 The resolutions are how frequently the surface is scanned, higher numbers will have more speed but less accuracy
4.5 The upper and lower clamps will take effect if the remaining value is above or below the percentage shown. If the values fall above or below they will be rounded to 100% or 0% respectively
